BEA enables Service Oriented Architecture for RFID
November 02, 2004
Computerworld reports that BEA systems is releasing a solutions framework that can help WebLogic Platform users build service-oriented architectures (SOAs) for tackling common enterprise pain points, including customer service, employee service, service delivery platforms, trade processing and RFID.
The PRNewswire press release details further:
The RFID Solution Framework can help accelerate the ROI from RFID investments by automating a new class of business processes. By uniting the real-time event integration and business process automation capabilities inherent in the BEA WebLogic Platform with the capabilities of several best-in-class partners, the RFID Solution Framework is designed to provide a scalable and flexible platform to meet both current and future RFID requirements. Examples of the challenges the RFID Solution Framework is designed to address include: the ability to increase revenue by reducing out-of-stocks; improving public safety through targeted product recalls and reduced product counterfeiting; improving margin through reduced product diversions; and reducing spoilage and obsolescence by monitoring expiry date, temperature, and humidity for every product in the supply chain.
