Motorola uses RFID to power ubiquitous media

August 05, 2004

Gizmodo reports from Motorola webcast:

JC pinned an RFID tag on Mr. Zander and had him walk to four different stations [...]. Using a technology called "Liquid Media," four monitors at each station would play and stop video or audio content when Mr. Zander walked into or out of their RFID reception zones.
Not at all unrelated to the ubiquitous computing/home reminder system we mentioned the other day.
